Corriedale wool wick (1 kg bag) - Ashford
Corriedale wool is uniform and smooth, so it is easy to spin or felter. A fine to medium wire can be spun with this fiber.
After washing, Corriedale wool swells and retains good elasticity. It is ideal for baby clothes, woven garments, hosiery and is very popular for needle felting projects.
Ashford Corriedale Sliver is a 100% New Zealand product made from the wool of sheep fed on pasture by breeders supplying long-standing Ashford. These breeders are very proud of the quality of the wool produced by their sheep, which they take great care of.
After shearing the sheep, on the farm, the wool is carefully checked. Only healthy, clean wool is kept if the fiber length, volume and color are adequate. It is then sent to the Milton Wool Mill in Ashford, New Zealand, to be dyed, carded and combed. The wool is washed with an environmentally friendly biodegradable detergent. It is then dried and dyed with dyes that comply with strict European regulations and clothing made from this fiber can be certified according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100. This standard is the best known in terms of certification of ecological clothing. (Detailed information is available on www.oekotex.com). The fiber is then conditioned. The carders align the fibers and eliminate foreign bodies.
